Use Case

Strengthening Quality Competitiveness through Non-Stop Master Data Migration - Global Semiconductor Leader H

Global semiconductor leader H needed to restructure the code system of key master data. To achieve this, they built a proactive architecture that predicts the impact of master data changes across the system and automatically restores data flow after modifications. As a result, operational lead time was reduced by 65%.

Challenge

Global semiconductor leader H needed to reorganize the code structure of five major master data areas—equipment, purchasing, products, etc.—by introducing an MDM (Master Data Management) system. The quality system was highly dependent on master data, and the data flow connections were complex, increasing the risk of failures or information loss during structural changes. A solution was needed to innovate the master data system while maintaining continuity in global process and quality operations.

Solution

Predicted the impact of master data changes on the entire system in advance and built a 'preemptive response structure' that automatically restores data flows after changes. Visualized the impact range with a data lineage map and implemented an automatic conversion module that redefines connection structures according to changed master data. Analyzed impact down to the program level beyond ETL, and established a system where the operations team can directly manage risks without IT dependency.

Results

  • 65% reduction in operational lead time: Greatly reduced failure detection and response time with automatic recovery structure
  • Non-stop master data structure transition: Stable migration even during real-time operation of core quality systems
  • Secured data quality and flow stability: Maintained quality indicators and data integrity before and after master data changes
  • Established operations-led risk management: Reduced IT dependency and strengthened operational autonomy for sustainable data governance
